I am happy you are here. I am excited to help you start your training journey with your dog, as learning to be clever together, will help you to elevate the connection you have with your dog.
The Clever Dog School Approach
The Clever Dog School’s goal is to teach you and your dog to have fun while training together. When you are learning how to train with your dog you are learning a system of communication that allows you and your dog to build a strong and loving connection with each other. It is my goal to empower you on your training journey with your dog so you both can live a clever life together! You will learn how to train with your dog so you can incorporate the training into your daily life and you will also learn how to utilize training as a form of mental enrichment so your dog can live a fulfilling and enriched life with you. Training with your dog will also empower you to have the confidence to take your dog places with you. The experiences you both share throughout your lives together help to strengthen the connection even more. I can help you train with your dog to make this possible.
Training with your dog
If you choose private lessons they will take place in the comfort of your own home or online through Google Meet. You will also have the option of out-n-about lessons to learn how to train with your dog in different locations around town. If you prefer to become clever with your dog in a community then group lessons will also be available.
In-person and remote options
Serving dogs and their people in Topeka, KS and beyond. In-home private lessons or out-n-about private lessons are available to you if you live within 15 minutes of Topeka. I am happy to travel outside of the 15 minute range of Topeka, but additional fees will apply. Otherwise, I would be happy to meet with you online as you can live anywhere for those!!

Private lessons with your dog in the comfort of your own home, out-n-about, or online.

Group Dog Training Lessons
Small group lessons. These lessons will include a maximum of 6 dog/human partners. The group lessons will be offered in-person and online.

Miles’ registered name is Miles to Go to honor my love of hiking and to acknowledge the fact that I still have miles to go in my quest to learn to communicate with dogs in the best way possible.

My Luna Love! She, like Darby, are my son’s dogs. A Great Dane was never on my radar, but I am so thankful that my son wanted her.

Darwin is a cheeky 10 pound Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix that believes he should be King of the world!

My Lovie Dovie! She is a sweet, joyful, fun dog that loves to retrieve and play find it!

Shine has brought such a bright shining light to our house! It is like he has always been here!

Finley is a delightful red Golden Retriever puppy that I gave to my mom as a gift.

Happy Annie Rose
Annie joined our family when she was almost 9 years of age. She passed away at 13.5 years of age not long before I launched The Clever Dog School.
